However, if you need to reach the Parkland Virtual Campus (LMS) and are not using the intranet, please use the new link www.trainingatparkland.org which will automatically redirect you to the Virtual Campus. Any correspondence/favorites linking to the old site will need to be updated. Also, please send notification to vendors or other outside personnel as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are 3 types of classes: ACLS full, ACLS renewal, and ACLS online renewal.

ACLS full: 2 days of class; attended b people who have never been to an ACLS class or who are renewing but would like more information than is provided in the renewal/one day class. If registering for this class, both days must be attended. Testing is done on the last day of class.

ACLS renewal: 1 day class; attended by people who have previously completed an ACLS course. This course will either be a renewal class or day 2 of the full class. You may attend a renewal class even if your ACLS card has expired.

ACLS online renewal: the CD for “Heartcode/ACLS Anywhere” can be purchased from one of three sites:

Channing-Bete (aha.channing-bete.com)

WorldPoint (www.eworldpoint.com)

Laerdal (www.laerdal.com)

Cost for the CD is $120 plus $10.80 s/h. It takes a few days to be delivered and several hours to complete. Once completed, print the certificate and bring it with you to skill checkoff. Skill checkoff is done on ACLS renewal days. Registration is still required so we can anticipate your arrival. Once registered, email Darlene Justice to let her know that you need only the testing portion and she will send further information.

NOTE: There are several online ACLS courses that “are based on recent publication of the American Heart Association” or “follow AHA guidelines”. These sites are not from AHA, they are only based on AHA materials so are NOT accepted for skill validation.

Current CPR cards are not required for the ACLS course.
